I did my B.Sc. in Biochemistry in 2003 at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, University of Ljubljana, and Slovenian NMR Centre, National Institute of Chemistry, with the thesis entitled "Influence of different loop regions and cations on guanine quadruplex formation" under supervision of prof. dr. Janez Plavec. I continued with my education at Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana, and Slovenian NMR Centre under supervision of prof. dr. Janez Plavec. I defended my Ph.D. in Biochemistry and molecular biology in 2008 with the thesis entitled "Structural research of RNA oligonucleotides involved in gene expression control". I was a postdoctoral research fellow in 2009 at Slovenian NMR Centre working on structural studies of RNA constructs mimicking binding of miRNA onto mRNA which was funded by the Slovenian Research Agency, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Slovenia. In November 2009 I went in Frankfurt am Main in Germany to continue my postdoctoral research at the Institute for Organic Chemistry and Chemical Biology, Center for Biomolecular Magnetic Resonance, Goethe University. I worked in the lab of prof. dr. Harald Schwalbe. I determined the structure of human and chimpanzee HAR1F RNA by NMR. My work was founded by the Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowship (IEF) awarded by the Research Executive Agency. After my return at Slovenian NMR Centre in July 2012 I started with measurement of NMR spectra of proteins. I am now a scientific associate. Part of my research is dedicated to the study small organic molecules and part to the study of RNA G-quadruplex structures. I am author of several peer reviewed articles and book chapters. Articles were published in journals with high impact factor, such as in Nature Methods and Nucleic Acids Research.

Research interest
• Study of biomolecules (e.g. RNA hairpins, RNA G-quadruplexes and proteins)
• Study of identity and content of organic molecules
• Development of NMR methods
